Samrat Prithviraj, which released on June 3, is struggling to reach a little over Rs 10 crore at the box office. The Akshay Kumar film is competing with Vikram and Major at the box office.
Akshay Kumar’s Samrat Prithviraj released in theatres on June 3 post many delays. The film, which marks Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar’s Bollywood debut, didn’t receive great reviews. In fact, Samrat Prithviraj is clashing with two South films (Vikram and Major) at the box office. The film is estimated to rake in a little above Rs 10 crore on its opening day.
What appears from the estimated box office figures of Akshay Kumar-starrer Samrat Prithviraj, the film won’t be able to save Bollywood. Early estimates say that the film will mint about Rs 11 crore on its opening day. Trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweets, “#SamratPrithviraj All-India Nett Day 1 early estimates around 11 Crs (sic).” The film is expected to be a poor competition to Kamal Haasan’s Vikram which might soon enter the Rs 100 crore club in Tamil Nadu itself.

Akshay Kumar-starrer Samrat Prithviraj is based on the life of the fearless King Prithviraj Chauhan. The superstar will essay the role of the legendary warrior who fought courageously against Muhammad of Ghor. Manushi Chhillar plays King Prithviraj Chauhan’s beloved, Sanyogita. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood. Samrat Prithviraj released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on June 3.
