A poster was put up near the Shiv Sena Bhawan allegedly by supporters of Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati. The former Rajya Sabha MP later tweeted that he didn’t believe in putting up posters to insult any party.
The political discourse in Maharashtra is heating up after the BJP won three out of six Rajya Sabha seats in the state. While Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis poked at the government when he said there is unrest in the ruling MVA alliance, the Shiv Sena countered saying that winning an extra seat “isn’t a great achievement” and alleged that the BJP won the seat through horse-trading.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, a poster was put up near the Shiv Sena Bhawan allegedly by the supporters of former BJP MP Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati. The poster, which prominently displayed the name of Swarajya — the organisation established by Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati — read that it had once again been proven that Maharashtra belongs to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
The poster further stated that the descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was disrespected, while praising “all MLAs who avenged the disrespect shown to Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati”.
The poster was taken down in the morning. Sambhajiraje later tweeted in Marathi that he will soon have a meeting and asserted he didn’t believe in putting up posters to insult any party.
