Samantha's Shaakuntalam promotions to begin soon, confirms director Gunasekhar

Samantha's Shaakuntalam's post-production work is currently underway. Director Gunasekhar took to Twitter to confirm that the promotions will begin soon.

Samantha, who plays the titular role in Shaakuntalam, is eagerly waiting for the film's release. On September 13, director Gunsekhar took to Twitter to share an update regarding the film. The film, which has been in the post-production for over a year, is all set for a grand release soon. Gunasekhar revealed that the film's promotions will commence soon.

Back in February, the first-look poster of Samantha's Shaakuntalam was unveiled. The shooting of the film was wrapped up in August 2021.

On September, director Gunasekhar shared updates on two of his films - Hiranyakashyapa and Shaakuntalam. His note read, "As promised, before manifesting the spectacle of Narasimha avatar on the silver screen in 'Hiranyakshyapa' which would be presented with some exciting collaborations on a massive scale, I set out to present to you a whimsical tale of love, 'Shaakuntalam' from the Adi Parva of the Mahabharata. Now, as it gets its final touches, looking forward to meet you all at the promotions soon! - Gunasekhar (sic)."

Director Gunasekar's Shaakuntalam is a mythological drama based on Kalidasa's play Shakuntala. While Samantha plays the titular role, Dev Mohan will be seen as King Dushyanta. Mohan Babu, Gautami Tadimalla, Aditi Balan and Ananya Nagalla will play lead roles in important roles in the film. Produced by Gunaa Teamworks, Shaakuntalam is distributed by Dil Raju Productions.
