Former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav had given hints that he will contest the UP Assembly election, 2022. As per the sources, the Samajwadi Party chief may contest the Uttar Pradesh polls from Gunnaur constituency of Sambhal district.

SP's Ram Gopal Yadav and Javed Ali Khan have also represented the party from here. In such a situation, Akhilesh's landing from the Gunnaur seat is being considered as a big political bet.
