Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has alleged irregularities in Uttar Pradesh’s voters’ list.
After being re-elected president of the Samajwadi Party (SP) for the third consecutive time at a national convention held at Rambai Ambedkar Maidan in Lucknow, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav alleged irregularities in Uttar Pradesh’s voters’ list.
The SP chief said 20,000 voters from the Yadav and Muslim communities were removed from every seat in the 2022 assembly elections. He said that the entire machinery had worked together to let the BJP win.

"We expected the most from the Election Commission. But at the behest of the BJP and its in-charge, they deliberately cut the names of 20,000 Yadav and Muslim voters in every assembly seat. Booths of many people were changed from here to another,” he added.
After Akhilesh Yadav blamed the Election Commission for his defeat in the assembly elections, the BJP reacted strongly and said the SP would lose in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections too. BJP state president Bhupendra Chaudhary said the SP was not getting anyone else to lead the party. “This is the biggest example of nepotism,” he said.
UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya took to Twitter and wrote, “Samajwadi Party is not only a political party, but it is a property of a particular family, headed by Mr. Akhilesh Yadav. The election is just a show.”
Similarly, BJP's state spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi said even after losing four elections, Akhilesh was adamant on caste and community equation, while elections were being held on development. “He is tricking his workers by putting the blame of his failures on the Election Commission, but Akhilesh accepted the one truth that BJP's Panna Pramukh is present at every booth,” he said.
