South Africa vs India 2nd Test: Cheteshwar Pujara said that the situation in Johannesburg is similar to what was the case in 2018 at the same venue when India won the third Test by 63 runs after dismissing a star-studded Proteas batting lineup on 177.
India batter Cheteshwar Pujara admitted that the situation in the second Test on Day 4 at the Wanderers in Johannesburg is quite similar to what it was when the two sides faced each other at the same venue in 2018. India had managed to dismiss a South African batting lineup that boasted the likes of AB de Villiers, Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis in addition to current captain Dean Elgar for 177 runs chasing a target of 241.
In the ongoing 2nd Test in Johannesburg, South Africa start Day 4 on 118/2 chasing a target of 240. In 2018, South Africa lost their second wicket when the score was on 124, with Elgar and Amla putting up a partnership of 119 runs. "This Test is very similar to the last one we played here. I feel the pitch was a little more up and down last time. We feel it will open a bit more again today, but we have to be a little more patient," Pujara told the host broadcasters before start of play on Day 4.
