S. Suresh is new director of Calicut airport

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has appointed S. Suresh as the new Director of Calicut International Airport. At present, he is serving as the Director of Tirupati International Airport.
Incumbent Calicut airport Director R. Mahalingam has been appointed as Joint General Manager (Electrical) at the AAI regional office in Chennai. It was in July last Mr. Mahalingam took charge of the Calicut airport. He had earlier served as director at many airports in the past six years.
Mr. Suresh, who has been serving as Director at the Tirupati airport for over three years, is likely to join this month. Previously, he had a long tenure as training in-charge of Air Traffic Flow Management in Delhi.
A postgraduate in environment management as well as business administration, Mr. Suresh had served in various capacities in the wings of commercial aviation and flight safety in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Allahabad.
The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to do away with the collection of garbage collection tax. To this effect, Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana tabled an Amendment Bill to Repeal Garbage Tax in the State Legislative Assembly on November 21 (Thursday). The Assembly approved the same.
