Russia is airing a gymnastic festival reportedly in the honour of President Vladimir Putin’s rumored girlfriend Alina Kabaeva as the Russian invasion of Ukraine enters its 100th day.
Named ‘Festival Alina’, it was helmed by the Olympic champion and took place last month but premiered on the Russia-1 channel on Wednesday to mark the International Day for the Protection of Children, as reported by the New York Post.

A video of the event, which is circulating on social media, shows hundreds of young gymnasts doing gravity-defying routines.

The Post in its report also stated that the festival featured a full military choir belting out a World War II-era song about a “holy patriotic war” while rhythmic gymnasts in sparkly red dresses danced across the stage.
