Russia-Ukraine war news updates: The Tamil Nadu government in India has announced that the state government will bear the expense incurred to safely transport Tamilians stuck in Ukraine due to the ongoing war with Russia.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Friday, February 25, stated that the state government will take care of the expenses of Tamil students being brought back from Ukraine. After Russia declared war on Ukraine, the Indian government launched a 24-hour helpline to assist Indian students who are still stuck.
CM Stalin on Thursday, wrote to Minister of External Affairs Dr S Jaishankar requesting the government of India to evacuate Tamils who are stranded in Ukraine.
The MEA has set up a 24-hour control room in Delhi and the helpline numbers are: +911123012113, +911123914104, +911123017905 and 1800118797.

In his letter yesterday, CM Stalin stated that about 5,000 students and other emigrants from TN are currently in Ukraine. He further requested the Union Government to consider arranging special mission flights to evacuate the stranded Indians.
