Russia-Ukraine war news latest updates: The Supreme Court will continue hearing petitions on the Ukraine evacuation issue next Friday. The Centre informed the apex court that the petitioner has been evacuated and will land in India on Friday evening.
The Supreme Court said on Friday, March 4, that it will continue the hearing on the Ukraine evacuation issue next Friday, March 11.
Yesterday, while hearing the petition, the Chief Justice of India (CJI), NV Ramana, said, "Can we ask [Russian President Vladimir] Putin to stop the war? What can we do in this matter? Tomorrow, you will ask us to issue orders to Putin...Can we ask Putin to stop the war? We have full sympathy and concern with the students. The government of India is doing its job."
The plea was filed by the family of 24-year-old Fathima Ahana. The plea claimed students were stranded at the Moldova-Romania border without any aid from the Indian government.

Meanwhile, the Centre has informed the Supreme Court that the petitioner who moved the SC over roadblocks in evacuation from Ukraine to Romania has been evacuated. The person will be landing in India on Friday evening along with about 70 others evacuated from the area, said the Centre.
A few days after an Indian student from Karnataka lost his life in the middle of the Russia-Ukraine war, another student was hospitalised.
Union Minister VK Singh told ANI on Friday, March 4, “A student from Kyiv was reported to have been shot and was immediately admitted to the hospital in Kyiv.”
