Moscow: Russian Defense Ministry announced on Friday the shooting down of 28 Ukrainian drones over five regions in Russia last night.
"Last night, the air defense systems destroyed 28 Ukrainian drones, 11 of them over the Crimean Peninsula, 8 over the Sea of Azov, six over the Kuban, two over Belgorod, and one over Rostov Oblast", Russian defence ministry said in a statement today.
The statement added that Ukraine tried during the night, with the help of drones, to carry out attacks on targets inside Russian territory.
In a related context, the Lugansk authorities announced that at least 20 people were injured as a result of the Ukrainian forces' missile shelling of the city.
Since the beginning of the Russian military operation in Ukraine in 2022, there have been conflicting reports about the extent of the losses of the Russian and Ukrainian sides, as each claims to have inflicted heavy losses on the other, without being able to independently verify the accuracy of this information, due to the ongoing fighting.
