CPM secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that RSS and SDPI are trying to create polarisation in Kerala. He also stated that murders that happened in Palakkad district were pre-planned.
Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) Kerala state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Tuesday said that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), the political offshoot of Islamist outfit Popular Front of India (PFI) are trying to create polarisation in Kerala.
“The aim of both groups is to create polarisation in society and make political gains. There is a conspiracy behind these incidents that is to destroy the religious harmony prevailing in the state”, the CPM state secretary said.
Balakrishnan was referring to the murders that happened in Palakkad. He said the murders were planned and such groups should be suppressed by any law that exists in the country.

“The majority fundamentalism is trying to grow by pointing out minority fundamentalism and vice versa. Both groups are trying to spread fear in their religions and trying to establish that they are your saviour. This is a conscious attempt to create communal polarisation,” Kodiyeri added.
“Two months ago a similar incident happened in the Alappuzha district. Both sides are nurturing the criminal gangs for murdering and retaliating within hours. This will destroy peaceful life in the country. Both communal forces are trying to mobilise the people behind them in the name of religion. Both are playing political games to make political gains using their religion. Therefore, true believers in religions must take a strong stand against these groups. The vast majority of people of both religions oppose these extremist attitudes and such killings,” he stated.
“Sangh Parivar is carrying out actions that cause concern among the minorities across the country. Sangh Parivar's activities are aimed at undermining the secular tradition and constitutional rights of the country. And SDPI is spreading extremist ideologies by shaping the concerns of minorities on this issue. This kind of attempt will strengthen the majority fundamentalism. Secularism must be nurtured by rejecting communalism. That is the only way to deal with it.”
