RRR and The Kashmir Files released after many delays. But both are doing equally well at the box office. Directed by SS Rajamouli, RRR released on March 25 in theatres and did spectacularly well on its first day. The Kashmir Files, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, opened to a slow start but slowly gained pace and entered the Rs 200 crore club in two weeks of run-time. Now that we have the day 1 box office collection of RRR, let’s compare how the two films fared at the BO on its first day.
RRR opened worldwide on March 25 and, as per the box office numbers, it did phenomenally well on day 1. The Hindi version of RRR minted a whopping amount of Rs 18 crore on day 1 (India collection), according to trade analyst Ramesh Bala. On the other hand, The Kashmir Files opened in limited theatres (630-plus screens) on its first day of release and still managed to rake Rs 3.55 crore. So good for both, we would say!
In hindsight, the total collection of The Kashmir Files stands at Rs 207 crore.
