Jr NTR and Ram Charan-starrer RRR graced the cinemas on March 25. On its first day, the film collected a whopping Rs 257.15 crore on its opening day. According to trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan, RRR has collected a total of Rs 490.16 crore worldwide in its opening weekend. On Sunday, the film collected Rs 118.63 crore.

While RRR is produced on a massive budget of Rs 450 crore, The Kashmir Files was made on a shoe-string budget.
With limited promotions, The Kashmir Files managed to collect Rs 27 crore worldwide in its first weekend. The Anupam Kher-starrer picked up momentum gradually after the initial couple of days.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, "#TheKashmirFiles shows PHENOMENAL GROWTH Grows 325.35% on Day 3 [vis-à-vis Day 1], NEW RECORD Metros + mass belt, multiplexes + single screens, the *opening weekend biz* is TERRIFIC across the board... Fri 3.55 cr, Sat 8.50 cr, Sun 15.10 cr. Total: Rs 27.15 cr. #India biz. (sic)."
