RRR, SS Rajamouli get shoutout from Shekhar Kapur after international media predicts Oscars nomination

RRR director SS Rajamouli was lauded by filmmaker Shekhar Kapur after an international portal called the film, a ‘3-hour action epic’. RRR is being considered for Oscars nomination.
The Film Federation of India (FFI) is currently on a deciding spree about which film to send for Oscars nomination this year. Talks are on that Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files and SS Rajamouli’s RRR are up for consideration. After multiple debates on the matter, an international magazine weighed in on RRR’s chances of receiving a nomination at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur shared the clip and lauded SS Rajamouli and his film, RRR.
RRR is being considered as India’s official entry at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. An international portal weighed in on the film’s chances at receiving a nomination and also called the magnus opus, a ‘3-hour action epic’. Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur retweeted the clip and lauded SS Rajamouli and his film, RRR. He wrote, “Seems the film #RRR has taken not just India, but the whole world by storm. Congratulations my friend @ssrajamouli .. hope other film makers from India follow in your footsteps. After all #India is the land of #Storytelling (sic).”

On August 8, Shekhar Kapur met SS Rajamouli, where they spoke about films, storytelling, technology and much more. Kapur, in a tweet, posted a photo with Rajamouli and wrote, “What a wonderful day spent with the ‘Golden Boy of Indian Cinema’ @ssrajamouli .. discussing Filmmaking, Philosophy, Storytelling and Technology. Such a learning process. Thank you and your family for your hospitality. Hoping for many more such interactions (sic)."
To this, SS Rajamouli replied, "Sirrr... The honour is ours... Hope a bit of your courage rubs off on me.. Paani has been held in the dam for too long. Time for it to thunder out of the lifted gates (sic)."
