RRR director SS Rajamouli talks about being the only director with two Rs 1000 crore films

Director SS Rajamouli's RRR crossed Rs 1000 crore-mark worldwide in just 16 days. With this achievement, Rajamouli is the only filmmaker to have two Rs 1000 crore films to his credit. Before RRR, Baahubali: The Conclusion shattered records and became his first Rs 1000 crore film. The filmmaker said that he is humbled and grateful for being able to achieve this milestone.
Jr NTR and Ram Charan-starrer RRR crossed Rs 1000 crore worldwide and is still going strong at the box office. The film was made on a humongous budget of Rs 450 crore by DVV Danayya under DVV Entertainment.
With Baahubali: The Conclusion and RRR, Rajamouli is the only director to have two Rs 1000 crore films to his credit. Talking about this achievement, SS Rajamouli said, "The biggest want of a storyteller is to have the maximum number of listeners to listen to his story. I’m grateful, humbled and overwhelmed that I have not just one but two such films that received the kind of reception they did and entered the Rs 1000 crore-club. The success of both ‘Baahubali 2’ and ‘RRR’ has reiterated that a film based on human emotions can cut geographical boundaries and translate beyond the language.”
RRR is a fictional period drama featuring Jr NTR and Ram Charan in lead roles. The film's story is based on the lives of two Telugu freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem. The film graced the screens on March 25.
Baahubali: The Conclusion is a action film featuring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj and Nasser in key roles. The film is set in the fictional land of Mahishmati.
