Samson is now only the 2nd Indian batsman after Virat Kohli to hit more than hundreds in the Indian Premier League. Rajasthan Royals fell agonisingly short of the target by 4 runs as Sanju Samson's 119 was not enough. Punjab Kings held on their nerves to clinch the triumph in the opening match.
