Stoinis was looking set to pull off an incredible chase after taking 19 runs in the penultimate over bowled by Prasidh Krishna. However, young Kuldeep maintained his calm and bowled as many as 3 dot balls at Stoinis in the final over to finish off the contest.
Lauding Kuldeep's ability, Samson said the Madhya Pradesh pacer had impressed him with his ability to nail wide yorkers and the way he had bowled his first 3 overs gave the kipper the confidence to give him the final over.
"It (giving him the last over) depends upon how he bowled his first three overs. I thought he had done really well and had the confidence to bowl those wide yorkers. Whatever I saw in Syed Mushtaq Ali, after that Royals picked him up. He is a special talent, can be for India soon," Samson said.
Kuldeep, 25, has played 16 first-class matches for Madhya Pradesh, 5 List-A games and a total of 15 T20Is so far in his nascent career. He was bought for his base price of Rs 20 lakh.
