India tour of South Africa: Vice-captain Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the 3-Test series due to a hamstring injury. The BCCI, in its release on Monday, did not name a deputy for Virat Kohli.
India have suffered a major blow ahead of the much-anticipated 3-Test series against South Africa as Rohit Sharma has been ruled out with a hamstring injury. The newly-appointed vice-captain of the Test team sustained the injury while training in Mumbai on Sunday after he had joined the rest of the squad for preparations.
India A captain Priyank Panchal has been added to the 18-man squad which will be led by Virat Kohli. Rohit had recently replaced Ajinkya Rahane as the vice-captain but the BCCI, in its release on Monday, did not name Kohli's deputy in the absence of Rohit for the 3-Test series, starting December 26.
