Road Safety World Series 2022: Johan Botha led from the front as South Africa bounced back from their defeat to India Legends to hammer New Zealand, led by Ross Taylor in Kanpur on September 12.
Johan Botha turned back the clock as the veteran off-spinner shone in a fine display of bowling to lead South Africa Legends to their first win of the 2nd season of the Road Safety World Series. South Africa Legends defeated New Zealand Legends by 9 wickets at the Green Park in Kanpur in Match No. 4 of the much-followed T20 league for former cricketers.
Botha put on a superb display of spin bowling as he outfoxed New Zealand batters, including their captain, Ross Taylor, who retired from international cricket in April 2022.
It was a poor performance with the bat from a well-rounded New Zealand side Ross Taylor's decision to win the toss and opt to bat in their fist match of the season backfired.

New Zealand were restricted to 99 for 8 in 20 overs with Brownlie top-scoring with 48. Wicketkeeper Gareth Hopkins was the only other batter who got into double digits (18) as New Zealand's batting card cut a sorry figure.
Ross Taylor was dismissed for just 4 in the 5th over by Johan Botha, who bowled in the powerplay. Neil Broom (1), Jacob Oram (6), and Craig McMillan (7) failed to get going in the middle overs as South Africa dominated with the ball throughout.
