A review meeting was held at the Collectorate on the preparedness and the security arrangements for the proposed Jallikattu event scheduled to be held on PMP College campus in Thadangam village in Dharmapuri.
Presiding over the review meeting, Collector K. Shanthi consulted with the various line departments on the operation of the standard protocols outlined by the government for the conduct of Jallikattu and their compliance. Departments of Animal Husbandry, Revenue, Police, Fire and Rescue Services, Public Works, Public Health and local body administration were instructed to coordinate and ensure compliance.
The Jallikattu event shall not have more than 150 participants, and the participants shall register their participation three days prior to the event to get the identity card. Persons seeks participation without identity cards will not be allowed into the arena.
At the time of the registration of the bulls for participation in the event, the names of the owners and the assistant shall also be registered. The registration of the participating bulls must be done three days prior to the event.
Similarly, other events such as Manjuvirattu and Vadamadu shall not have more than 300 participants.
