Retail inflation climbs to 4.91% in November as vegetable prices soar
India Today
While the retail inflation remains below the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) target of 2-6 per cent, it has been rising gradually for the past few months.
India’s retail inflation climbed marginally to 4.91 per cent in November as prices of various vegetables rose during the period. In October 2021, India’s retail inflation was 4.48 per cent. The inflation in November 2021 was much lower compared to 6.93 per cent in November 2020.
It may be noted that the CPI-based inflation in November was also less than what was predicted earlier by economists.
