External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday told the United Nations "political convenience" could not be the basis for a nation's response to terrorism or extremism, and stressed on the need to respect territorial integrity and called for "non-interference in internal affairs".
The comments at the UN General Assembly come amid a massive diplomatic row with Canada, which has claimed "agents of Delhi" were involved in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in June. Nijjar - wanted by India on terrorism charges - was a Canadian citizen.
