
Research should be done for welfare of mankind, says Karnataka CM Bommai

While speaking at a function in Bengaluru on Tuesday, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai stressed on undertaking research that focused on the welfare of mankind and helped upcoming generations lead healthier lives.
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, while speaking at a function in connection with the inauguration of Integrated Cryogenic Engines Manufacturing Facility and Aerospace Division, stressed on undertaking research that would help the coming generation to lead a healthier life. He said research must be undertaken for the welfare of mankind.
Speaking at the function on Tuesday, which was attended by President Droupadi Murmu, he said the state has formulated the Aerospace, R&D and Defense policies, and the government is ready to extend all cooperation to take up research work. He said Karnataka is moving on new paths of science and innovation. The slogan of the state has been 'New Karnataka for New India'.
“Science has the quality of expanding continuously, and there is no full stop for it. One innovation will lead to a lot of research. But research must be done for the welfare of mankind. Outer space has always been a source of imagination and, because of this, space has always been attractive to human beings. India is not inferior to anyone in the science field,” said CM Bommai.
The CM said further that since time immemorial, India had been involved in the discovery of space. He recalled that Aryabhata had undertaken a lot of research in this regard and his works had been the source of inspiration for today's innovations. He added that today, India was not inferior to any other country in the field of science.

“We have put hundreds of satellites in orbit and have reached the stage of putting commercial satellites in space. Cryogenic engines have been the subject of discussion in the last four to five decades and only a few nations have developed them. Space technology was restricted only to a few nations,” said the Karnataka CM.
“As per the slogan of 'Atmanirbhar' declared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is now on the highest pedestal. India has joined a list of countries that would manufacture the Cryogenic engines,” he added.
