Newlyweds Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have received a special gift from an animal welfare organisation, Anima Raahat. They have named their two rescued horses after Alia and Ranbir.
Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt tied the knot in an intimate wedding on April 14 with close friends and family in attendance. The couple have received numerous gifts from their fans. Remember the gold-plated bouquet from a Surat jeweller. Now the lovebirds have received a unique gift from an animal welfare organisation, Animal Rahat. They have named their rescued horses after Ranbir and Alia, who are inseparable just like the newlyweds.
The two horses are rescued. According to a statement issued by Animal Rahat, the mare was being used for wedding ceremonies and was in a terrible condition when she was found. On the other hand, the stallion was confiscated from the Gateway of India in Mumbai, where he was being used for hauling a heavy Victoria carriage. Both the horses are now living at one of Animal Rahat’s sanctuaries.
"Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor chose to keep their big day horse-free. A wedding is a perfect occasion for anyone to spare a thought for and show love to all our fellow sentient beings," said Dr Naresh Upret, Chief Operating Officer at Animal Rahat.
Take a look at the congratulatory card, which features the two horses:
For the uninitiated, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt got married on April 14 after dating for about five years. The couple had a private wedding at Ranbir's home in Bandra, Mumbai. Neetu Kapoor confirmed that the couple won't be throwing a reception party.
