It didn’t take long for the Republican Governors Association (RGA) to target former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, who in his new bid to regain his old job convincingly crushed a field of rivals for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination.
Roughly an hour later, after Jack Ciattarelli captured the GOP gubernatorial nomination in New Jersey, he slammed Gov. Phil Murphy and vowed that the Democratic incumbent who’s running for reelection "will be one and done in 21." Virginia and New Jersey are the only two states in the nation to hold gubernatorial contests in the year after a presidential election.
