Republican bill would give National Guard lethal force powers to repel 'armed invaders' at border
Fox News
Republican lawmakers want to give National Guard the power to use lethal force against armed cartel members and smugglers crossing the southern border into the U.S.
The legislation, if passed, would authorize the National Guard to take "such actions as may be necessary to repel persons attempting to enter the United States from Mexico who are carrying weapons, and for other purposes," according to a description of the bill. The full text of the legislation has not been made public. Michael Dorgan is a writer for Fox News Digital and Fox Business.
