Rep. Cammack bill would allow DHS to suspend migrant entry during surges, terror threats
Fox News
Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla., is introducing legislation to broaden DHS' ability to block the entry of migrants into the U.S. in the case of a border surge or pandemic.

Those factors include a 25% increase in apprehensions in a single month, or a 25% increase in apprehensions in a single week. Conditions would also include a public health emergency like a global pandemic, the failure of a Western Hemisphere government or the presence of an "imminent foreign terror threat to the security of the United States."
Cammack, in an interview with Fox News Digital, said the bill was named after a Border Patrol agent called Jason who recommended the measures when Cammack was at the border.
