Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla., is introducing legislation to broaden DHS' ability to block the entry of migrants into the U.S. in the case of a border surge or pandemic.

Those factors include a 25% increase in apprehensions in a single month, or a 25% increase in apprehensions in a single week. Cammack, in an interview with Fox News Digital, said the bill was named after a Border Patrol agent called Jason who recommended the measures when Cammack was at the border.
