Rename Rajiv Gandhi National Park after KM Cariappa Tiger Reserve: Karnataka BJP MP

In the letter, BJP MP Pratap Simha stated that three out of 103 national parks in India, including the Nagarhole National Park and Tiger Reserve, are named after former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, and several others in the country bear other names of the Nehru-Gandhi family.

Bharatiya Janata Party MP Pratap Simha from Mysore-Kodagu has written to Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai requesting him to rename the Rajiv Gandhi (Nagarhole) National Park and Tiger Reserve as FM KM Cariappa (Nagarhole) National Park and Tiger Reserve.In his letter to the chief minister, Simha stated that three out of 103 national parks in India, including the Nagarhole National Park and Tiger Reserve, are named after former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, and several others in the country bear other names of the Nehru-Gandhi family.
