Remove loudspeakers from mosques by May 3 or else…: Raj Thackeray’s ultimatum to Maha govt

MNS chief Raj Thackeray has once again reiterated his demand for removal of loudspeakers from mosques, and given an ultimatum to the Maharashtra government to do so before May 3.
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has given an ultimatum to the Maharashtra government and reiterated his demand that loudspeakers from mosques be removed. He has asked the government to act before May 3.
Speaking at a public rally in Thane on Tuesday, Raj Thackeray said that if the Shiv Sena-led state government did not remove loudspeakers from mosques before May 3, MNS workers will play Hanuman Chalisa in front of mosques.
Earlier this month, Raj Thackeray had announced that the state government should remove all loudspeakers from mosques, claiming that they caused a nuisance to others. He had said that he wasn't against any prayer, but people should follow their faith at their respective residences and not cause trouble to others.

Following Raj Thackeray’s address, many MNS supporters had started playing Hanuman Chalisa on loudspeakers in front of mosques, after which police action was initiated against them.
On Tuesday, MNS chief Raj Thackeray said that if the state government did not act and remove all the loudspeakers by May 3, he and his party workers should not be held responsible for further action.
