Remainder of PSL 2021 will be postponed if no clarity by Thursday on 'certain exemptions' over UAE venue: PCB

Pakistan Cricket Board said it will continue talks with the UAE government to host the remainder of the Pakistan Super League from June 1.

The Pakistan Cricket Board on Wednesday said the franchise owners decided in a virtual meeting earlier in the day that a final decision to host the remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 season will be taken on Thursday. The PCB said PSL had received the required approvals from the UAE to host the remainder of the season from June 1 but they are awaiting "clarification of certain exemptions requests". The Pakistan Super League was postponed in March due to positive Covid-19 cases in bio-bubbles across franchises Karachi. "Following detailed discussions in which all potential scenarios were reviewed and analysed, it was unanimously agreed to wait until the close of business on Thursday (UAE time) before a final decision on the hosting of the remaining matches is made," PCB said in a release.
