The Calcutta High Court on Monday ordered a stay of proceedings in three cases against BJP MLA Suvendu Adhikari and also said that no coercive action can be taken against him. Suvendu Adhikari has been named in the FIR in three cases, including the death of his former bodyguard Subhabrata Chakraborty, alleged to be a murder. Subhabrata Chakraborty, a State Armed Police personnel, had allegedly shot himself with a service revolver in 2018. Adhikari had skipped questioning at CID headquarters on Monday morning, citing prior political commitments and that quashing of the FIR was pending in Calcutta High Court.
