Rejig on cards for Rajasthan Congress? Sachin Pilot’s meet with Sonia Gandhi sparks buzz
India Today
Congress leader Sachin Pilot’s meeting with Sonia Gandhi has sparked speculation that there could be a possible rejig in Rajasthan Congress ahead of next year’s polls.
Congress leader Sachin Pilot met party president Sonia Gandhi on Thursday, sparking speculation about a change of guard in Rajasthan Congress leadership ahead of next year’s elections in the state. This was Sachin Pilot’s second meeting with the party leadership in a fortnight, and followed just after Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot’s meet with Sonia Gandhi.
Following the meeting, Sachin Pilot said, “Discussed strategies on strengthening party, organisational elections and also gave feedback about the political scenario in Rajasthan to party President. In the last 30 years in Rajasthan, there is a trend of alternate government after five years-- that is one time BJP and next time Congress.”
Some changes in government and organisation in the right direction have been made through the AICC committee that was formed about two years ago and "we have to move forward on that", Pilot said.

"Our objective is to repeat the Congress government in 2023. All these things were discussed... We will move forward strongly going forward," Sachin Pilot added.
Asked about a possible “change of faces in Rajasthan”, Sachin Pilot said, “That is what exactly we are discussing. In that discussion, everything is included. What to do, what not to do. The final decision will be taken by the party president. And those who are working on the ground, it is our responsibility to give proper feedback. The grassroots feedback about what the party can do in the next few weeks and months.”
