Two Regina teens are facing murder charges in connection to the death of a Regina man on Boxing Day.
On Sunday, the Regina Police Service (RPS) announced that it had arrested and charged two 15-year-old males in connection to the killing of a 30-year-old Charles Russell Thompson on Dec. 26.
Both of the suspects were charged with a single count of second-degree murder.
The first teen was also charged with failure to comply with a release order while the second teen faces two counts of that charge in addition carrying a concealed weapon.
Both of the youths are set to appear in Regina Youth Count on Monday, Dec. 30.
The investigation began at 5:50 p.m. on Dec. 26 when RPS received a report of a seriously injured man in the area of 8th Avenue and Retallack Street.
Officers arrived on scene and found Thompson suffering from apparent stab wounds. Police provided first aid until paramedics arrived. Despite life-saving measures, Thompson died at the scene.
