The Redmi 10 has been launched in India, which is the latest budget smartphone from the brand, priced under Rs 15,000 segment. It is a successor to the Redmi 9 and is a 4G smartphone. The Redmi 10 has a Snapdragon 680 SoC and a 6,000mAh battery under the hood. It even has a 6.7-inch IPS LCD display as well as a 50-megapixel dual rear camera setup. With these features, Redmi aims to target budget-conscious users. The new phone will be seen competing against the Samsung Galaxy A12 and Realme Narzo 50A. Here’s a quick comparison of the three budget phones under Rs 15,000.
The newly launched Redmi 10 comes with a starting price of Rs 10,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model. The 6GB + 128GB model will cost you Rs 12,999. The latest budget phone from Redmi will go on sale on March 24 through Flipkart, Mi.com, and select offline retail stores.
The Realme Narzo 50A is being sold for Rs 11,499 in India and for the same price, the company is shipping the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model. The Samsung Galaxy A12 was launched at Rs 13,999, but it is currently selling at a discounted price of Rs 11,989 on Flipkart.
All the three budget smartphones have the same front design and one might not distinguish between them. They feature a waterdrop-style notched display design. They have a square camera module at the back. The brands are offering the devices in unique colours.
The new Redmi 10 has a massive 6.7-inch display, but it only operates at HD+ resolution and not at FHD+. The panel is also protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The other two smartphones have a 6.5-inch HD+ display with 20:9 aspect ratio.
The Redmi 10 has an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC, which is capable of handling basics tasks. The Realme Narzo smartphone has a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC under the hood, which has been used by several phones in the budget segment. Samsung has used its own Exynos 850 SoC for the Galaxy A12 device.
Unfortunately, all the three smartphones are running on Android 11 OS, instead of the latest Android 12. Both Redmi and Realme pack a 6,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. Samsung, on the other hand, features a 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging support.
