Red alert withdrawn from all districts in Kerala, 18 deaths reported

The IMD’s previously issued red alert has been withdrawn from all districts in Kerala. However, an orange alert was issued for 11 districts on Thursday, August 4. So far, 18 deaths have been reported in the state.
The Indian Metrological Department (IMD), on Thursday, August 4, withdrew its previously issued red alert for all districts in Kerala. However, it had issued an orange alert for 11 districts.
A total of 18 people have died so far due to the unrelenting rains. Three deaths were reported on Wednesday.
An orange alert has been issued for Kannur, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kottayam, Alappuzha, and Pathanamthitta.
Kerala has been receiving heavy rainfall for the past few days.
In its press bulletin issued on August 3, the IMD predicted that rain or thundershowers are likely to occur in most places in Kerala from August 3 to 7.
