Due to a red alert issued for heavy rains in Tamil Nadu, schools and colleges in Chennai and other districts will remain closed.

A red alert has been issued in Tamil Nadu due to upcoming heavy rains due to which schools and colleges will remain closed in Chennai and several other districts. The state has already seen three deaths and heavy waterlogging due to torrential rains.

TN CM MK Stalin has declared a holiday for schools and colleges in Chennai and neighbouring districts of Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, and Chengalpatu. The red alert issued by the Metrological Department has advised people to stay indoors for safety purposes.
