A 19-year-old girl, working as a receptionist in a private resort in Uttarakhand's Pauri Garhwal, was found dead after being reported missing since September 18. Three people including the resort owner and manager have been arrested. But the events took a political turn after the Congress alleged that one of the accused has links to the BJP.
The girl identified as Ankita Bhandari, a resident of Pauri Garhwal, was working as a receptionist in a private resort in Laxman Jhula area. She went missing reportedly inside the resort on September 18 and her family filed a missing complaint.
Based on the missing complaint, an FIR was registered three days later, on September 21. The resort owner and the other two accused were absconding since the day the girl went missing, the police said.
