Realme's new phone has cropped up in the rumour mill and it could be the next high-end phone.
Realme is maybe working on a new high-end phone and it will run the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset. According to the credible tipster who goes by Ice Universe on Twitter, the Chinese company is among the first ones to launch a phone that uses Qualcomm’s penultimate chipset in terms of top-grade performance. Earlier this year, Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 870 processor as a slightly tweaked version of last year’s Snapdragon 865 that powered 2020’s Android flagships. Ice Universe shared a screenshot of what looks like the About phone screen of the mysterious Realme phone. The model number of this phone is blurred out in the image, making it difficult to figure out the identity. However, the rest of the information is intact, and according to that, there will be a Snapdragon 870 chipset inside. Powering this phone will be Android 11 with Realme UI 2.0 on top. There is going to be 12GB of RAM, along with 5GB of additional RAM that will be available to the handset through virtual RAM expansion. And the storage on this unit is 256GB. However, there are chances this unnamed phone will have more RAM and storage variants. Right now, it is tough to put a finger on a Realme phone and tell you that it is the one that is going to use the Snapdragon 870 chipset. There is a Realme 8 Pro 5G that is in the pipeline if rumours are to be believed. Since most mid-range smartphones in Realme’s 5G portfolio use MediaTek Dimensity processors, chances for the Qualcomm one are slim. Apart from this phone, Realme has announced it is working on a new phone that is codenamed “Quicksilver” and it will use the newly-announced Snapdragon 778G processor. Qualcomm has just announced this processor as the successor to the Snapdragon 768G and it is touted to bring support for premium features.More Related News
