Realme GT 2 series to launch in Europe at MWC 2022, but when will it come to India?
India Today
Realme has announced that its GT 2 series will make its debut outside of China at the upcoming Mobile World Congress, or MWC 2022, but the India launch may not be on the cards at that event.
Realme has announced that it will launch its GT 2 flagship series outside of China at the upcoming MWC 2022, i.e., February 28. The GT 2 series has two phones; the GT 2 and the GT 2 Pro, the latter being the company’s first ultra premium phone that takes on the likes of Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and Xiaomi 12. The MWC 2022 launch is likely to target the European market, so what about India?
In its announcements so far, Realme has not said anything about when it is planning to bring the GT 2 and GT 2 Pro, but Realme India boss Madhav Sheth had earlier confirmed the two phones will indeed arrive in India. That means you should not be in doubt whether or not the GT 2 series will come to India, but, at the same time, we cannot ignore the fact that there is no definite timeline for the launch of these phones in India.
If we were to take a guess, I would say sometime in the middle of March is when Realme is planning to launch the GT 2 series in India. Realme has mostly followed a very jampacked schedule for its phone launches, and with the Realme 9 Pro series out, the next big launch is likely going to be that of the GT 2 series in India.
The Realme GT 2 Pro is a flagship phone that comes with a 6.7-inch Samsung LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 3216x1440 pixels and a dynamic refresh rate. The display is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and supports a peak brightness of 1400 nits. Powering the GT 2 Pro is an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. Realme said the all-new 9-layer cooling structure with a 4129mm² Stainless Steel VC area will offer GT 2 Pro users better thermal management.
Running Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0, the Realme GT 2 Pro uses three cameras on the back: a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor with optical image stabilisation, a second 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a field of view of 150-degrees, and a 3-megapixel microscope camera with 40X magnification. For selfies, the phone has a 32-megapixel camera inside the punch-hole. The Realme GT 2 Pro has a 5000mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging. The phone has Dolby Atmos on its stereo speakers, better haptics, and Wi-Fi 6 for better connectivity. It also supports NFC payments in select markets.
