Realme Buds Q2s launched with Dolby Atmos support, 30-hour battery life
India Today
Realme has launched new truly wireless earbuds called Buds Q2s in China and they come with support for Dolby Atmos audio, something that you find on streaming apps like Apple Music.
Realme has launched its new wireless earbuds and the best thing about them is that they support Dolby Atmos. The Realme Buds Q2s debuted at the V25 launch event in China, so while buyers in India and other markets will not be able to get their hands on the new earbuds immediately, Realme is expected to launch them in the near future.
Dolby Atmos is one of the marquee features of the Buds Q2s. Ever since Apple introduced support for Dolby Atmos music in Apple Music, people have begun to show more interest in audio accessories that support advanced audio technology. Dolby Atmos brings a spatial listening experience, as the listener is able to identify different instruments in the music and the direction their sound is coming from.
Nearly all the latest Apple AirPods models support Dolby Atmos, but there are only a handful of wireless earbuds outside of Apple’s ecosystem that bring Dolby Atmos support. Realme’s new earbuds are an attempt to democratise the technology, but because music streaming apps other than Apple Music still do not support Dolby Atmos, Realme may have to upsell the Buds Q2s.
Launched in China, the Buds Q2s earbuds cost CNY 199, which is roughly Rs 2,400. But Realme will sell the earbuds for an introductory offer price of CNY 149, which translates to roughly Rs 1,790. The earbuds come in Black, Forest, and Paper. There is no word on when Realme will launch the Buds Q2s in India.
The Realme Buds Q2s essentially borrows a lot of things from the Buds Q2. The design of the earbuds is nearly the same as the Buds Q2, but Realme has added a nice touch by making the lid of the case transparent. Call it inspiration from the Nothing ear (1). The earbuds are IPX4-rated, which means you can wear them while working out or running.
The new Realme earbuds come with 10mm drivers and use Bluetooth 5.2 to connect. The earbuds support AAC and SBC codecs, which is good for the price. But there is no active noise-cancellation on these earbuds, so if you want good noise-cancelling earbuds, look for other options. Realme’s earbuds also support 88m super latency mode, which gamers will appreciate. Realme claims the earbuds run for up to 30 hours on a full charge. The charging case has a USB-C port for charging.
