Realme 9i 5G will launch in India on August 18, the company announced recently. As the name suggests, the smartphone will be a 5G version of the existing Realme 9i, which is available in the country at Rs 13,499 for the base variant. The announcement comes just days after the company told a publication it is ramping up efforts to launch affordable 5G phones. Though the Realme 9i 5G could be priced around Rs 15,000, the company has said it will launch a phone at around Rs 10,000 soon.
Realme has also set up a dedicated website for the Realme 9i, where the design and select specifications are revealed. The official poster highlights a unibody design. The back panel houses three camera sensors, and the right edge includes the power button integrated with a fingerprint scanner. Under the hood, the Realme 9i 5G will carry MediaTek's Dimensity 810 chipset that features in select affordable 5G phones. It also powers Redmi Note 11T 5G, Poco M4 Pro 5G, and Agni 5G. Realme claims this chipset is 20 per cent faster than the Dimensity 700 chipset, which powers a host of affordable 5G phones that were launched in 2021.
Other details about the Realme 9i 5G are under the wraps, but more information is expected soon. We can expect the phone to borrow some specifications from its sibling, the Realme 9i.
To recall, the Realme 9i comes with a 6.6-inch Full-HD+ 90Hz display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor, which is decent for everyday tasks.
