MNS chief Raj Thackeray removed Vasant More from the post of Pune city president for not following his orders to play Hanuman Chalisa outside mosques.
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has summoned party leader Vasant More to meet him at his residence on Monday morning after the latter took a different stand on the issue of removing loudspeakers from mosques in Pune.
Last week, Thackeray removed Vasant More from the post of Pune city president for not following his orders to play Hanuman Chalisa outside mosques after the Maharashtra government paid no heed to his demand to remove loudspeakers from mosques.
Speaking to India Today, More said he was shattered b Thackeray’s decision to sack him as city unit president. “At the same time, I was very much hurt when MNS workers in Pune burst firecrackers, distributed sweets and celebrated the new development at the party office,” he added.
A visibly emotional Vasant More is weighed by a feeling of ill-use. He shared that he is the only MNS worker in Pune who has 18 police cases registered against him. "All because I dared to follow and execute all of the orders given by the party," he said.

His participation in agitations and protests have resulted in legal cases against him, for which he has to attend regular court proceedings. The former corporator said he is ready to undergo punishment only for his respect for Raj Thackeray.
"I had worked very hard for this office, right from selecting the location, getting the interior done all by myself, and personally choosing Raj Saheb’s chair at the new city office. All alone, not a penny spent by MNS leaders of Pune city,” he added.
