RCMP make arrest in connection with Georgetown arson

A man in eastern P.E.I. faces charges of arson, resisting arrest and assault with a weapon following a fire in Georgetown on Saturday.
Police responded to the report of a fire at an abandoned home shortly after 5 p.m. Investigators found evidence of arson at the scene.
A suspect, a 20-year-old man, was identified.
When they located the man he threatened officers with a shovel, according to an RCMP news release. The man is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
The Three Rivers Fire Department responded to the fire, but the house was destroyed.
