RCB vs LSG: Josh Hazlewood on getting lucky with a wide call to Marcus Stoinis – Might have to get him a beer

Jos Hazlewood picked up four wickets during Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) 18-run win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Tuesday.
Fast bowler Josh Hazlewood reckoned that the rub of the green went his way after on-field umpire, Chris Gaffaney, didn’t call a wide to one of his deliveries to Marcus Stoinis during Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 19 at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Complex in Mumbai.
Stoinis shuffled across way outside his off-stump in an attempt to hit Hazlewood through the on-side. In response, the bowler delivered the ball almost outside the pitch, but umpire Gaffaney didn’t call it a wide. Stoinis was a tad bemused by the umpire’s call. Hazlewood also admitted he got away with a lucky call.
“I tried to turn around and get back to my mark as quick as I could. I got pretty lucky on that one [on the ball not called a wide before Stoinis wicket] so I might have to get him a beer after that," Hazlewood was quoted as saying in the post-match presentation ceremony.
In the very next ball, Stoinis again tried to make room to hit Hazlewood on the leg-side. But this time around, a deflection off his pads crashed onto the stumps. The dismissal added to Stoinis’ frustration as he let out a cry of anguish after getting bowled.
Hazlewood, in the meantime, finished with four wickets for a mere 25 runs, although it was skipper Faf du Plessis, who won the Player of the Match award for his 64-ball 96. The RCB captain scored more than half of the team's runs before getting out to Jason Holder.
Du Plessis also conjured praise from Hazlewood for the match-winning knock in RCB’s 18-run win over KL Rahul and Co.
"It's always a challenge there at the end when batters are coming hard but we obviously had that big side there to try to use and I thought we used it pretty well all night. Faf's been brewing. He's had a few lean games coming off but tonight he took his time and kept the score going along and finished with a bang, so credit to him,” Hazlewood added.
