Raveena Tandon to Priyanka Chopra, saluting Khaki Queens of Bollywood on Women’s Day
India Today
Hindi cinema’s cop universe is incomplete without women in uniform. This Women’s Day, let’s look at the times Raveena Tandon, Priyanka Chopra and Rani Mukerji, among others, donned Khaki on the big screen.
Bollywood, not only has Salman Khan’s Chulbul Pandey, but now, it also has Ajay Devgn’s Singham, Ranveer Singh’s Simmba and Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavasnshi. The cop universe, however, certainly is incomplete without women who don the Khaki on the big screen and undeniably manage to turn heads with their iconic roles.
Here’s the list of Bollywood’s Khaki Queens:
Raveena Tandon won hearts with her digital debut as Kasturi Dogra, the SHO of a small town in Himachal Pradesh, in the Netflix series, Aranyak. She investigated the case of a missing child and a boy who disappeared amid mysterious circumstances.
With hard hitting dialogues, action scenes and chase sequences, Rani Mukerji as fearless cop Shivani Shivaji Roy proved her brilliance as an actress not once, but twice. In 2014's Mardaani, she set out to confront the mastermind behind a child trafficking mafia. While in 2019's Mardaani 2, she vowed to catch and bring a psychopath working for a politician to justice. Following the success of both the films, the production house also announced a third installment in the Mardaani series with Rani reprising her role.
