Trust Ekta Kapoor to give us a variety of content. Her latest show, Lock Upp, premiered on AltBalaji and MXPlayer on February 27, and it was nothing short of entertainment and drama. With a list of some controversial names from the entertainment world, the show will stream every day at 10pm. Lock Upp will challenge these contestants to survive in extreme conditions where they will have to win tasks to achieve necessities. Interesting, isn't it? During the grand premiere, Raveena Tandon made a dashing entry while contestants Shivam Sharma and Sidharth Sharma got into a physical brawl. So, here are all the highlights from the grand premiere of Lock Upp.
1. Comedian Munawar Faruqui was the first contestant to enter the Lock Upp stage. He got into a verbal spat with the Bollywood superstar hosting the reality show. A panel of journalists then grilled Munawar. After that, he was taken to jail in a van. It should be noted that the contestants were allowed to take only three personal items into the jail.
2. Raveena Tandon made an appearance on the stage as a special guest. After this, the host gave the viewers the first look at the jail that’s been specially made for the series. She requested Raveena to be a strict jailer for one day.
3. Meanwhile, Munawar entered the jail and was asked to change into the prisoner’s outfit. He started exploring the jail. On the other hand, Lock Upp's host welcomed the next contestant, Swami Chakrapani Maharaj on stage. All the contestants have some accusations against them in the outside world and they were being quizzed on it. Swami Chakrapani Maharaj talked about his 'gau mutra's controversy and said that he took up the offer of Lock Upp because most of the saints are already inside.
4. Swami Chakrapani was joined by the next contestant, designer Saisha Shinde on stage. Saisha talked about the difficulties faced by the trans community in India, especially in getting Aadhar card made. She added that India has still not readily accepted the community. In response to this, Swami Chakrapani said that one should accept themselves as they are.
5. Next up, Poonam Pandey entered the Lock Upp stage while giving a sizzling performance on stage. She also faced some tough questions from the special guest panel. When Poonam was accused of making adult films and promoting them, she answered that she makes 'eroticas' and not adult films. She drew a comparison between erotica and Kamasutra and said, "Erotica is closest to Kamasutra."
