Rape accused attacks survivor in Bengaluru two years after getting bail

A rape accused, who was arrested in 2019 and got bail in 2020, attacked his victim-survivor on Monday, August 1 in Bengaluru. The victim escaped the assault and police are hunting for the accused.
The accused, 28-year-old Muzamil, a native of Nellore in Andhra Pradesh, was working for a pharmaceutical company in 2019. His colleague, a 26-year-old woman, had filed a sexual harassment complaint against him for allegedly raping her in 2019.
According to a report by The Times of India, the woman told the police that Muzamil had proposed to her while they were working together and had allegedly sexually abused her multiple times.
She filed a case of cheating and sexual abuse against Muzamil after he refused to marry her and began avoiding her. He was arrested but was granted bail in 2020 and he returned to his hometown.
In her recent complaint, the victim said that the accused had confronted her at Roopena Agrahara on August 1 when she was on her way to work. He reportedly told her that he wanted to discuss something with her.
After initially refusing, she accepted it when he said that his parents wanted to talk to her. She accompanied him to Madiwala lake, but his parents were not there.
He began abusing her and accused her of ruining his life by filing a rape case against him. He also attempted to hug her and tear her clothes. He also allegedly slapped her, but the victim escaped and went to a hospital with an auto driver’s help.
