
Ranveer Singh's ROFL Reason For Learning Konkani From Deepika Padukone: "When We Have Children"

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have often managed to share some light-hearted moments of their married life every time the couple stars at an event. Recently, while they were in the US, Ranveer accompanied Deepika to an event where she was the chief guest. Though Ranveer's unique greeting in Konkani stole the show, the actor later divulged why he wanted to learn the language and revealed he can now understand Konkani "seamlessly." One of the viral videos from the event shows Ranveer talking about learning Konkani so that Deepika doesn't speak to their kids in a language he cannot understand. "I have come to a position where I can understand all of Konkani seamlessly. But there is a reason behind it. It's because when we do have children, I don't want their mother to speak to them in Konkani about me without me understanding," said Ranveer. While the audience burst into laughter, Deepika narrated the incident when Ranveer asked her to teach him Konkani. "So, he comes up to me one day and says, 'Baby, I want to learn Konkani.' And I fell for it that day. I was like, 'That's really sweet.' I'll also try learning Sindhi. He doesn't know Sindhi. And then it came out in conversation over a period of time that it wasn't about him wanting to learn Konkani it was so that I don't turn the children against him," she said.
Ranveer quickly replied, "I don't want them speaking in code language where I don't know what's going on." Take a look at the video below:
