Ranveer Singh revealed Aditya Chopra once compared him to Hrithik Roshan. He opened up about the incident during the trailer launch of his upcoming film, Jayeshbhai Jordaar.
Ranveer Singh is one of the leading actors in Bollywood, who made his debut 11 years ago. While he is now known for his acting prowess and charming looks, there was a time when he wasn't perceived as a quintessential hero. During the trailer launch of his upcoming film Jayeshbhai Jordaar, the actor revealed, Aditya Chopra, the producer of his first film Band Baaja Baaraat, advised him to focus on acting as he was ‘no Hrithik Roshan’.
Ranveer Singh will next be seen playing a Gujarati boy in Jayeshbhai Jordaar. During the trailer launch of his upcoming film, he took a trip down memory lane and talked about his initial days in the film industry. He revealed how he was he wasn't perceived as a quintessential hero and the advice that Aditya Chopra gave him, referring to his looks.
“Before the release of my first film, my posters were put up everywhere. I had gone to watch a film, where I saw two people standing in front of my poster. I stopped because I wanted to overhear what they had to say. They said, ‘Who is this? He doesn’t look like a hero!’ This has happened. In fact, Aditya Chopra had told me in our second meeting that, ‘You’re not Hrithik Roshan, toh tu acting kar lena (so you please act)," said Ranveer Singh as per a report by Bollywood Hungama.
The trailer of Jayeshbhai Jordaar was launched in Mumbai on April 19. Starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role, the film is written and directed by Divyang Thakkar. The official Twitter handle of Yash Raj Films shared the trailer link of Jayeshbhai Jordaar and captioned it, "Jai Mataji! #JayeshbhaiJordaar TRAILER OUT NOW!
